Description: Build the confidence and skills to succeed in middle school. Discover how your brain changes in amazing ways and how you can grow during this exciting time in your life. Learn how to manage your time, set goals, and get organized. Give your body the energy it needs and learn how to handle stress in positive ways. Make peer pressure work for you instead of against you, and learn how to create strong friendships where everyone wins. By the end of your training, you will have higher confidence, new skills for success, and dozens of proven strategies to solve problems quickly and achieve your dreams. Throughout the course, you will be coached by Mawi Asgedom, a Harvard graduate and student success expert who has written eight books and trained over 1,000,000 students.

Description: This course takes students on an inspiring “Superhero” journey where they develop confidence, build pride in their culture, achieve their goals and help their peers succeed. Students learn how to take action to improve their own lives, manage their time and resolve conflict by considering differences in personality. Along the way, students are coached by Mawi Asgedom, a former ELL (English Language Learner) student who earned a scholarship to Harvard and is now a student leadership expert who has trained over 1,000,000 students.

Description: Increase your confidence and build your social skills as you learn how to overcome many of the toughest challenges teens face. Discover how your “super-charged” teen brain really works, so you can make better decisions, have more fun, and achieve more. Learn how to conquer peer pressure, social anxiety, and the unnecessary risks that can derail your future. By the end of your training, you will have new power to direct your own life and lead your classmates.

Critical thinking & study skills
Description: Get better grades and higher test scores, and increase your success in high school. If you are already a good student, you will learn new study skills and testing skills that will help you get even better. If you struggle in school, this course will give you the Success Mindsets, study skills, and testing skills to perform at new levels. This half-credit course teaches the ACE test-taking method, which will assist students in their approach to high-stakes testing. Throughout the course, Mawi Asgedom, a Harvard graduate who was the first in his family to attend college, will coach you. Mawi is a student success expert who has trained over a million students.

To complete a Discussion Based Assessment (DBA):
1. Make sure all work from the Module is 100% complete
2. Text me with your full name, which class you're in and which Module DBA you need to complete.
3. I will respond as soon as I can
4. If we can't complete the DBA right then, we can reschedule for another time in the near future.
*Remember that this is supposed to be a discussion. You should be ready to speak on the phone with
me about what you learned from the lessons in the module. Parents should not be telling you what
to say on the phone.
*Please remember that you should be in a place free from other
noises and/or distractions.
*If you are unprepared for a DBA, I will kindly let you know and you'll
have to arrange for another time for us to talk.

Biography: Mawi Asgedom was born Selamawi Haileab Asgedom. He is an author and a successful inspirational speaker for students, community groups, and businesses.Mawi was a refugee of Ethiopian. For about two years of his childhood, he was separated from his father and had to flee to Sudan to avoid the war in Ethiopia. Mawi was seven years old when he and his family arrived in the U.S. in 1983, sponsored by World Relief. They had spent the previous three years in a refugee camp in Sudan. He grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, Illinois. He graduated with top honors from Harvard University, receiving a degree in American history and giving the commencement address at his graduation in 1999. Since graduating from Harvard, Mawi has dedicated himself to uplifting teenagers. He is the bestselling author of ''Of Beetles and Angels: A Boy's Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard'' and ''The Code: The 5 Secrets of Teen Success''.He is a very popular speaking guest at middle and high schools. He has spoken to over 500,000 students in more than thirty states. He has trained educators at The Harvard School of Education, The Midwest Principal's Center and many teaching conferences.
